The temptation is as real as a storm coming in. To grab the blade and let it all fade.

Slowly dripping away, all the pain and misery of those who wronged me.

But this truly isn’t about others or what they’ve done to me.

Yes, they may have started to destroy me, but now it’s about the all-consuming pain devouring me.

Dragging me to the deepest part of hell, if I’m not already there.

Some tell me to focus on what really matters but all I see is a disaster.

They never know what happens after. After all the laughs and smiles go away,

after the masks start to fade, it’s all a masquerade, who can put on a better face.

While some masks are starting to blend, I can no longer pretend.

The fake smiles and stupid laughs, it’s all starting to drive me mad.

I may have things to which I could go on to, but all I want to do is move on.

All I can think about is this moment and I know it’s a torment.

Only those who have been broken down know what I’m talking about.

I’ll take the blade; drag it across my soul, because I’m too scared to end up on the floor.

But I don’t want this pain to persist, because one day I’ll be the one slashing my wrist if I can no longer resist.
