When did people become so rough?

When did everyone start acting so tough;

as if we aren’t all looking for love?

When did words lose their value?

When did gestures get devalued?

When did gazes stop holding love?

When did a gentle touch stop being enough?

When did love stop being where relationships head?

When did all that matters become the next person and the next bed?

When did people forget how to communicate?

When did we conform to adequate?

When did love stop holding power?

When did life become led by cowards?
