Dark Soother

Day 5

For today I decided to outsource instead of using NaPoWriMo’s prompt.

Challenge: Write a poem using all of the following words: smooth, soothe, work, dark.

She was a smooth work of art.

Her mind seemed to soothe my soul

and I just wanted more.

I was addicted to her dark patterns,

never concerned about the things that could happen after.

Her perfection was the best ecstasy you could possibly hope for.

Always being left with the desire to explore.

She was broken and twisted in the most flawless way.

Which made want to always stay.

She may not have been your typical kind of perfect,

but that’s exactly what made it al correct.

With the deepest of reflections and the sincerity of hearts,

sometimes words just come apart.

Revealing truths deep inside the soul,

that question the reality of what is whole.

Feelings so real that threaten to tear you apart;

and challenge the beliefs held from the start.

Revelations of loves one hoped weren’t true

and deceptions that with time only grew.

Loves planted so deep in the heart,

loves so beautiful they could be called art.

Loves so hopeless, but so romantic.

Loves so sad but so fantastic,

held together by moments so tragic;

bound forever by the purest of magic.

Variant Lune

Day 1

While the haiku is a three-line poem with a 5-7-5 syllable count, the lune is a three-line poem with a 5-3-5 syllable count. There’s also a variant based on word-count, instead of syllable count, where the poem still has three lines, but the first line has five words, the second line has three words, and the third line has five words again.

First post for national poem writing month guys. Enjoy! 😀

I couldn’t wait for tomorrow,

Said I would,

but couldn’t wait till tomorrow.

So I start my path,

Commencing once again,

as the year before this.

I begin my path, anxious,

ready to kickoff.

Ready as I’ll ever be.

I said I would wait,

wait till tomorrow,

but I break my rules.

I break my rules again,

now, not then.

What matters, now, not then.

One and Only

His smile is beautiful, it fills his face. So warm and gentle, perfect embrace. So much love in one chapter, its just now, there is no after. But time just goes by faster. Enemy to love, such a cruel partner, cant it see, we want to master. Master the feelings and the desires, our passion runs deeper than fires. It all seems like a trial when time pulls us away when memories start to fade. Yet this moment is all that matters when our hearts beat faster. When joy slams at our chest, there is no next. This is our best. We come together, we form one, none is greater we both won.

Kingdom of the Heartless

Write a poem describing the thoughts 0f a person in the aftermath of a life-altering situation.

You hope to see many,

but there’s only one reflection.

It’s tainted, busted, far for perfection.

Puffy eyes, red nose, one of those.

It stands still, it stands alone.

Misguided, so sad, so mad.

It moves as if disconnected,

Disconnected from itself,

Disconnected from the world.

It moves to the song of a darker devil,

And the walls are shaking, the floor rumbles.

A firm structure starts to crumble.

Windows shattering at the core,

all that was, is no more.

Try to find a stable ground,

but the quakes are all around.

Steps taken are so unsure.

Nothing seems secure.

Stuck in a detour.

So hard to endure.

Searching for the perfect cure.

Day 24 – Worldly Beast

Day 24- Write a poem that’s different in some way from anything you’ve ever written. Take a chance! Be wild!

It starts wild and free.

Nothing can stop me.

Heart alive, pounding.

The blood circulates through my veins.

So much pleasure turns me insane.

The beast is coming out.

Prepare yourself or run now.

Won’t hold back, going to attack.

Leave behind some penetrating crack.

Intertwined to a spiritual level.

Reach lower than the bass, but take you to the treble.

Not a saint, be your personal rebel.

Teach you how to create intense trouble.

All that’ll be left behind is a beautiful rubble.

Day 16 – Classically Perfect

Day 16- Respond to the poem you posted yesterday with a poem of your own.

All the books that you have written I will read,

because I would like to know someday,

that someone did the same for me.

That they took their time to get to know all of my lovely flowers and secret desires.

To flicker through the pages of my good and bad memories.

To relive all the things that hold my essence,

yet respect my secrets, keep closed the books I have pushed back, in my presence.

I will write you into my story and hope that you will do the same.

Because I know how feeling unwanted can cause so much pain.

You won’t be a mere page, a chapter or a book in my shelf,

you will be one of the main reasons why it stands there.

You will hold your own volumes in my infinite rows,

amazing anyone with your beautiful show.

The ink ill use will be everlasting,

so everyone can know you were meant to be a classic.

I will be the friend you never had,

show in our pages that for this you’ll always be glad.

Death is,
so unwelcome,
yet it freely roams. Cruel.
Devouring all with, no regret.
Bad bet.

Day 7- Eucalyptus Me

Day 7

Take a walk until you find a tree you identify with, then write a poem using the tree as a metaphor for yourself or your life.

Dark and mysterious, a calling face.

Smooth and beautiful but firm in its place.

Mixed colors, a mixed race.

Distinctive features, for a unique soul;

Always ready to grow.

Showing a one of a kind glow,

after letting all the pain go.

An inner bark that’s ready to mature,

Finally found it’s cure.

Eucalyptus me. Ready to be set free.
